Central Private –  closed through Friday, WILL REOPEN ON MONDAY

St. Alphonsus – closed through Friday

Hurricane Gustav-Volunteer Sign Up – St. Alphonsus Catholic Church received a request today to shelter 146 nursing home residents and their staff of 54 members.   If a mandate for nursing home evacuationdue to Hurricane Gustav takes place St. Alphonsus will provide this shelter for  Fernwood Manor Living Center.   If this should happen we will need lots of help.  Sign-up for volunteers will take place after Masses this week-end in the Gather Space.  A notice board listing the needs for each day that the residents are here will be posted in from of the Family Center.   We welcome  and encourage all those who can assist to join us. Did you know that maroon is the only color that Central community school system students can wear on the inside of the school buildings.  It doesn’t matter if it is August or January, this is a hot item.  Click here to get your ORDER FORM!

CMS PTO is selling spirit shirts.  Your student will be allowed to wear these shirts on Friday’s in place of their maroon uniform shirt.  The khaki uniform pants are still required.  The spirit shirt is a gray shirt with maroon and white emblem on the front.  Click on the following link to access the form:  ORDER FORM

Greenwell Springs Baptist Church located at 19421 Greenwell Springs Rd. will provide shelter, sleeping quarters, showers, food and comfort before and during Hurricane Gustav.  Pastor Sam Raney requests that evacuees bring their personal belongings as well as any cots or sleeping bags. The church and American Red Cross will be providing cots as well but bringing cots will help prevent a shortage.
