Over the past four months two community information websites have emerged, TheCentral411.com and CentralSpeaks.com. The Central residents behind these sites, each unaware of the other, had the same idea and have worked to benefit Central through free and independent promotion of all that makes this community great. The primary motivation for each of these sites was to benefit Central. Now, seeing clearly that Central would be served best by these two groups working together, they are becoming one unified site focused on providing the best possible information and support via the internet for the Central community.
Darci Biggs and Shauna Bradford, creators of TheCentral411,com, have teamed up with Dave Freneaux and Beth Fussell, creators of CentralSpeaks.com, and are pleased to serve Central together as "CentralSpeaks.com – The 411 on Central". All of the best of both websites will be brought together in one unified site. The actual merge of sites will take a few days but should be completed by September 1st. Take some time to browse the sites and see how your organization, church, team, school or business can best serve and be served.
"CentralSpeaks.com – The 411 on Central" is a community news website and does need your input to present the best of Central for all to celebrate, support and enjoy. Send in your articles, announcements, information, service opportunities and calendar events and we will get the word out immediately on the website. Send pictures too so we can all enjoy seeing Central at work, in service and at play. We are also in search of community-minded corporate sponsors who will pledge modest monthly support so that the site can best serve Central's information needs.
Everyone at CentralSpeaks.com – The 411 on Central, is excited about the possibilities that are unfolding as we join together to serve Central. Contact any of us with your information and ideas by e-mailing Beth@CentralSpeaks.com, Darci@CentralSpeaks.com, Dave@CentralSpeaks.com or Shauna@CentralSpeaks.com. We thank all of you who have been contributing to the websites and helping us to let everyone see why Central is the best place in the world to live and raise a family.

After the last few months, taxes, millages, assesessed values, and our tax rates have been in the minds of many Central residents. We will try to give the facts and hopefully help answer a few questions. Stay tuned for more information on these issues. Feel free to contact us with suggestions of issues that you feel need clarification and we will try to help you if we can.
Millage is the percentage of value that is used in calculating taxes. A mill is defined as 1/10 of 1 percent and is multiplied by the assessed value after any exemptions have been subtracted to calculate the taxes. (FOR EXAMPLE: If the tax rate is 100 mills and the total assessed value is $10,000 with no exemptions, the taxes would be calculated as $10,000 x .100 = $1,000.00.)
Be sure to check back for more information. An informed community is an involved community.

The gym was packed on Monday night at Central High with Wildcat fans. Coach Watts and Coach Edwards were impressed with the great spirit organizations that will cheer these teams on during their seasons. All team sports were well represented. Coach Edwards ended the night by letting the fans know that the 105 sitting in front of him were the survivors. Each of these men are more than just football players, they are special unique individuals. The evening ended after the crowd of fans and students sang the CHS Alma Mater.
