Central Gaffs the Gators, 31-13 (See Video Highlights Below)

Our Central High football team came out on the opening drive and used a reverse-lateral-trick play to score its first touchdown.  A fumble recovery, a blocked extra point and a blocked punt, along with a potent offense, led to a 31-13 final score as the Wildcats moved to 2-0 for the season.

With 9:19 remaining in the first quarter Ed Cutno on a reverse trick play threw a 7 yd pass to Josh Watts and Mathew Thibodeaux added the PAT.  Then with 4:03 remaining in Quarter one, Antonio Dunn scored on a 1 yd run with Thibodeaux adding the extra point.  St. Amant got its first 7 points as time expired in the first quarter to make it 14-7 Central.  At the 5:08 mark of the second quarter Will Briscoe tossed a 29 yd pass to Antonio Dunn for a score and Thibodeaux again added the PAT.  Half time score, Central 21, St. Amant 7.

At the end of the third quarter St. Amant drove for a score but the extra point attempt was blocked by Louis Covington of Central.  In the fourth quarter Briscoe ran in from the one for a score with Thibodeaux adding the extra point.  Thibodeaux added a 28 yd field goal later in the quarter to cap the scoring at 31-13 in favor of Central.

Central piled up 491 yards of total offense to 243 by St. Amant.  Briscoe went 21 for 33 for 275 yards, 1 Td and 2 INT.  Davis, Cutno and Dunn combined for 14 receptions totaling 182 yards and Dunn added 59 yards on the ground on 13 carries.  On Defense, Pourciau, Vest, Osezemwinde, Johns and Ghorum combined for 27.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
