The Central Community Alliance will hold its next forum next Tuesday, January 20th, at 7 PM in the DEMCO meeting room at 16262 Wax Road.  The meeting will be a “Louisiana Legislative Update” featuring Cliff Richardson and Bodi White, our Representatives to the state legislature.  Make your plans to attend.

We all enjoyed December 11th, 2008 and will remember it as “The day it really snowed.” The kids got to stay home from shool and play in the snow! Unfortunately, that missed day of instruction has to be made up. Having used up our “storm days” and then some due to hurricanes, the snow day will have to be made up by going to school on Wednesday, February 25th, which is the day after Mardis Gras.

This information was discussed at the 1/12/09 School Board meeting and was approved by the board.

Highway Updates:

Wax Road at DEMCO:  The new turn lane is almost completed!  All that is left is to dress the area and then striping will complete this project.  Enjoy the new turn lane.

Joor Road:  Ahead of schedule!  Contractors are working on bridge at this time.  We are driving entirely on the new pavement
