CP Baseball Update

Gage Wilkinson was magnificent on the mound and at the plate as the Central Private  Rebels extended their season opening winning streak to 12 games.  The Rebels defeated the Centerville Academy Tigers 10-0 in 5 innings on Tuesday at Rebel Field.
     Wilkinson threw a complete game shut out of the Tigers and struck out ten batters.  Wilkinson has not given up an earned run in 15 innings of play this year.  He also hit his first home run of the year in the third inning.  He was 3 for 3 on the night with 3 runs scored and on RBI.
     The Rebels began scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Thomas Bourgeois drove a fastball over the green monster in right field.  The drive scored Wilkinson who singled that scored Logan Lewis for the third run of the inning.
     Central Private picked up two more runs in the second inning.  Brennan Courville had 2 rbi as his single scored Wilkinson and Jacob Fryoux who reached on base hits.  Perkins and Travis Rose walked and scored on wild pitches before Wilkinson’s blast in the third inning.  Lewis added a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Rose.  Chase Metz ended the scoring and the game in the fifth inning when Centreville could not hold onto a line drive by Seth Stevens.
The win was number twelve for the Rebels against no losses.  Wilkinson’s record is now 3-0.  Central Private is also 3-0 in district play.  The Rebels return to action on Friday when the travel to Centreville for a doubleheader.
