The Central Private Rebels traveled to Jackson for a couple of games on Tuesday and returned with mixed results.  After they suffered their first loss of the season to AAA power Pillow Academy in the first game 5-3, the Rebels came back to beat 3 time AAA state champion Hillcrest Academy 6-3.
Taylor Ort was the starter for the Rebels and suffered his first loss of the season against 3 wins.  After a scoreless 2 innings, Ort began the third with a single and was driven home by catcher Brennan Courville to open the scoring.  Pillow would go ahead in the 4th after a lead off walk to Daniel Allen and a double by Sam Grossman who scored after an error and a wild pitch.  They would then add three runs in the 6th following 3 walks and an error by the Rebels
Thomas Bourgeois hammered a fastball over the 20 foot fence in right field 330 feet away after Jacob Fryoux led off with a walk in the bottom of the inning to close the gap to 5-3 but that was as close as the Rebels got as they fell victim for the first time this year.  The Rebels are now 12-1 on the season.

Game 2

The Rebels showed that they are able to bounce back after a defeat by defeating Hillcrest later Tuesday night.  The Rebels turned to their ace, Gage Wilkinson, and he responded with his fourth victory of the season.  Wilkinson struck out six in the complete game victory.
Hillcrest began the scoring as Chase Roton scored in the top of the first after a couple of wild pitches and an infield hit by Caleb Dugas. The Rebels stormed back in the third to go ahead 2-1.  Chase Metz singled to open the inning and scored on a double by Thomas Bourgeois.  Bourgeois scored after an RBI single by Brennan Courville.
Dugas crossed the plate to even things up in the 4th.  Corey Norwood drove him home with a single to left.  Seth Stevens put the Rebels ahead in the 4th with a single, a stolen base and a steal of home.  Wilkinson was able to shut down Hillcrest and Jacob Fryoux and Thomas Courville added runs in the 5th after a 2 RBI single by Travis Rose.  Chase Metz finished the scoring in the 6th after a single a stolen base and a sacrifice fly by Fryoux.  The win upped the Rebels’ record to 13-1 on the season.
They return to district play on Monday as they travel to Amite to battle Oak Forest.
