The Central Private Rebels returned to work on Monday night as they traveled to Amite.LA to battle district foe Oak Forest in a baseball game.  The Rebels were able to move their record to 14-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in district play with a 6-3 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Central Private went to work immediately in the top of the first inning as lead off hitter Gage Wilkinson led off the game with a single through the middle.  Two batters later the Rebels had a 2-0 lead as Thomas Bourgeois nailed his 6th home run of the year.over the right field wall.  Oak Forest immediately answered however, as pitcher Phillip Ingraffia walked to open the bottom of the first and Mike Gill hit a towering homer over the center field fence.  They then took the lead as Brock Banos scored on an rbi single by Tyler Newstrom.  That would be the only three runs allowed by Tyler Ort as he pitched 6 1/3 innings to get the win for CPS.
The Rebels were just getting started and tied the game when Seth Stevens scored on a sacrifice fly by Wilkinson in the 2nd.  In the top of the third Bourgeois and catcher Brennan
Courville hammered back to back home runs for the Rebels.  It was the second time this year that they went back to back.  Logan Lewis scored the final run for the Rebels in the 5th inning after singling to open the frame.
Wilkinson picked up the save for the Rebels pitching the final 2/3 of an inning.
The Rebels return to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader in Liberty,MS and on Friday with a double header at Rebel Field.
