The Central Private Rebels were able to improve their season’s record to 16-1 and remain unbeaten in district play as they swept a doubleheader from the Centreville Tigers in Monday night in Centreville. Taylor Ort picked up the win for the Rebels and Gage Wilkinson picked up the save as he struck out Nick Bellou to end the game with the tying run at third base. The Rebels were led at the plate by catcher Brennan Courville, right fielder Ridge Perkins, and second baseman Seth Stevens. The final score of 8-7 was indicative of the closeness of the game as the Rebels had to fight back from a 3-1 deficit after five innings. A home run by Ridge Perkins put the Rebels in front to stay. Game 2 of the doubleheader was not close. Wilkinson picked up the win to remain unbeaten on the season and was assisted on the mound by Logan Lewis and Stephen Tate as the Rebels combined to limit the Tigers to 4 hits and 1 run in the 5-inning, 15-1 ballgame. Central Private was able to put the game away early with an 8-run second inning. The big blow was a grand slam by Courville. Jacob Fryoux was 2 for 3 in the game with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Jason Young added 2 doubles, and Stephen Smith also hit a double. Lewis chipped in with a hit, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs.  The Rebels’ record now stands at 16-1 and they remain undefeated in district play.
