The Central Private Rebel baseball team continued its torrid pace to start the season as it ran its record to 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Rebels defeated the CHEF Patriots by a score of 15-1 in the CPS Mizuno Classic.
Stephen Tate got his first start of the year and picked up his first win. Tate threw 2 innings in a game that was shortened to 3 innings by the mercy rule. He struck out three Patriot hitters. Jason Young pitched the final inning for the Rebels.
A huge second inning by the Rebels put the game away. Brennan Courville blasted a three run homer to propel the Rebels and complete a 2 for 3 with rbis. Gage Wilkinson who has a .562 batting average on the season was 2 for 2 with 3 rbi. and 3 runs scored.
Jacob Fryoux was also perfect at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, 3 rbi and a run scored. Thomas Bourgeois also scored twice for the Rebels. Senior Andy Kinchen lined a single to left filed that scored 2 runs and ended the ball game.
The Rebels continue play on Thursday as they face the Parklane Pioneers in the Mizuno Classic.

The Central Private Rebels continued their early season dominance by rolling past the Bowling Green Buccaneers on Tuesday evening by the score of 12-0. The Rebels scored early and often against the Bucs. Tyler Ort and Ridge Perkins combined to pitch a no-hitter for C.P
The Rebels began the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with Brennam Courvilee banging a double into the left-center field gap that scored Gage Wilkinson and Logan Lewis. Center fiedler Jacob Fryoux would tehn double to score Courville as the Rebels picked up three runs in the inning.
Thomas Bourgeois picked up an RBI in the second inning with a single that scored Wilkinson. The third inning saw another Rebel eruption this time for 4 runs. Lewis who had 3 RBI’s on the evening singled to score Fryoux and Wilkinson, Bourgeois then doubled to score Lewis and then scored on a single by Courville.
Ort who retired the first eleven Bucs in order lost his perfect game by issuing a two out walk in the fourth inning to Jason Milton. Ort struck out seven in four complete innings.
The bottom of the fourth inning saw the Rebels score 4 more runs. A sacrifice fly by Seth Stephens scored Travis Rose who singled to open the inning Fryoux. Wilkinson and Lewis also scored in the inning.
Perkins finished the ganme on the mound by striking out three in the fifth inning. The win pushed the Rebels record to 4-0. They continue play in the Mizuno Classic at Central Private the rest of the week.
