Central Awarded Grant for Fire & Traffic Supplies

By  |

Central has been awarded $30,000 through the Office of Community Development’s Local Government Assistance Program. Some of the money will be used to purchase new radios for the Central Fire Department. These radios will bring Central up to date with the rest of the state’s emergency radio systems, providing a more effective method of emergency response and communication between stations. The money will also go to fund traffic counters and data analysis materials so that the city can find more efficient ways to regulate traffic through signs, lights, and maintenance. A big thank you goes out to Mr. David Barrow, Executive Assistant to the Mayor’s Office, who has been instrumental in researching and applying for these funds.
