Red Ribbon Week at Bellingrath Hills

By  |

The week of October 19-23 is Red Ribbon Week at Bellingrath Hills Elementary. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to promote a drug-free environment and lifestyle for kids. It raises awareness of the dangers of drugs and ways to avoid situations dealing with drugs.

Each day of the week will present a different fun opportunity for Bellingrath students to promote Red Ribbon Week: On Monday, October 19, students are invited to “sock it to drugs” by wearing crazy or mismatched socks. Tuesday, students can wear crazy sunglasses to show that their future is “bright without drugs.” Wednesday is red ribbon day, where students wear red ribbons to school as a reminder of what the week is about. “Hats off to being drug free” is Thursday, and students are welcome to wear a fun hat to school. Friday, everyone can wear a crazy hairstyle or wig to remind them to “use their head” and not do drugs.
