Central Drubbs Zachary

The Central High School Wildcat football team and all of the fans are enjoying turning the tables on some traditional rivals this season.  Two weeks after dominating the usually powerful Catholic Bears, Central sent the Broncos home to Zachary on the short end of a 58-0 shutout.  Even as recently as a couple of years ago the Zachary team, playing up in Central’s classification, gave the Wildcats problems.  Now, in the same division and classification, Zachary was overmatched tonight.

Central amassed 398 yards of offense to Zachary’s 140, scoring quick and often throughout the game.  By the end of the first quarter Central led 29-0 and never looked back.  Leading the defense on the shutout were Hunt, Vest, Goudeau and Richardson, combining for 23 tackles and 17 assists.  Wes Briscoe had another 100 plus yard receiving night, including 2 TD’s while brother Will went 13 for 19 with 4 TD tosses.
