lightbulb1Entergy launches new service

Entergy has introduced a new service that allows customers to receive
text messages when there’s a power outage at their home or business. “My
Account Anywhere” allows customers to send and receive information about
outages on their cell phones, including how long electricity is
projected to be out. The service is free, although some customers might
be charged for receiving a text message, based on their wireless plan.
One warning, Entergy says “My Account Anywhere” is designed to provide
information about routine outages in normal weather conditions. In the
case of a severe storm, like Hurricane Gustav, it may take several days
to get text messages about how long electric service may be disrupted.
To get the sign-up process started, text “reg” to 368374.

Check Thursday mornings for the city update each week.
