Weekly School Update

By  |

Central Middle students are doing their part to help with the Haiti relief effort. Tuesday, February 9 is the last day to bring items for this. CMS students have collected over 5,000 items so far. As added incentive, the students are competing for a Cane’s party in their homeroom and an Ipod Shuffle for the student who collects the most. If you would like to help, the following items are being collected: money, non-parishable food items like rice and beans, cooking oil, duct tape, rope, blankets, sheets, pillows, soap, gauze, bandaids, toothbrushes and toothpaste, washcloths, towels, exam gloves, hand sanitizer, deoderant, shampoo, and baby wipes.

So far this school year, students in the Central school system have read a total of 37,559 books (with 684,976,500 words) in the Accelerated Reader program.
