Economic Development Foundation Holds Real Estate Event

By  |

Last Thursday July 19th, the Central Economic Development Foundation held an event focused on introducing real estate professionals from surrounding areas to the City of Central. Agents, brokers and developers came from Denham Springs, Zachary, and Baton Rouge. The Village at Magnolia Square developers offered their three model homes for this event not only to showcase their homes, but to help the Foundation keep the real estate message prominant while hosting guests with wine & finger food in a relaxes setting.

Special guests from Senator Vitter, Congressman Cassidy, and Governor Jindal's offices spoke highly of Central and the forward direction that it is taking. Jon Ringo, from Governor Jindal's office, mentioned that he and his family are considering moving to Central. Iain Vasey, Executive Director of Business Development for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, also spoke at the event. Councilmen Messina, Washington, and Moak attended with good things to say about the progress of Central and the Foundation.

This event also recognized Steve Vassallo for his tenure with the City of Central which ends July 31st. Last year, the city contracted Steve Vassallo, a Certified Economic Development consultant, to form the vision and secure the footing of the city's economic development.  Mr. Vassallo’s efforts have had a tremendous influence in the direction and the formation of the Foundation.  Mr. Wade Giles, President, recognized Steve with a crystal plaque at the event.
