Business Spotlight: Dairy Queen and Tiger Express

Tiger Express and Dairy Queen are located in the same building at the corner of Joor and Hooper Road.  Tiger Express is a gas station, convenience store, and a restaurant.  Every day of the week from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., breakfast is served, including items like eggs, grits, bacon, biscuits, and breakfast sandwiches.  Beginning around 10:45, customers can choose from a lunch and dinner menu with poboys, salads, burgers, muffalettas, and chicken.  Lunch is served until 2 p.m., with dinner available after that.  Tiger Express and Dairy Queen both close daily at 10 p.m.

Upgrades are in store for both Dairy Queen and Tiger Express.  New dining areas will be added to both ends of the building, and there will soon be new restrooms and an arcade area for kids.  A new parking lot is opening up more space for customers, so pull around behind the building to park if you cannot find space up front.

Dairy Queen is being promoted to a DQ Grill and Chill.  This is a step up from the current Dairy Queen, with an expanded menu.  As a special treat, employees will bring food out to the customers in the dining area, a feature not offered by most other fast food restaurants.  The Central Dairy Queen received the Dairy Queen Pride Award last month, standing for Personal Responsibility In Delivering Excellence.  This award is given to DQ restaurants for outstanding cleanliness and food safety.  Congratulations to the Dairy Queen team for this accomplishment.

The owners hope to have the renovations at both Dairy Queen and Tiger Express completed by December of this year.  In the mean time, stop by for a poboy or an ice cream, and give them a call at 262-7004 if you have any questions.
