This has been a very busy and successful summer for the Central High Boys Soccer team. The program formed two teams to play in the Super 7 Summer league sponsored by the Baton Rouge Soccer Association.  The teams consisted of players from Central High as well as Central Middle and even a couple of younger boys from Tanglewood Elementary.  There were also three players from Walker High School that played.  For the first time in school history the first team has completed league play undefeated with 7 wins and 0 loses scoring 49 goals and giving up 13.  Some of the teams that competed in the league were Parkview Baptist, Denham Springs, and St. Michaels.  Head Coach Wes Melton said that “this team has found their style of play and have really become a tight team.” With the new school year coming the future looks bright for this team.  The Soccer program is also going to try and put together a team at Central Middle School this coming year so be ready for some great opportunities for all these young athletes.  Coach Melton is also trying to get a youth program started to play in the Baton Rouge Soccer Association. He is currently looking for both boys and girls to form a U9 team this fall. If you are interested or have questions you can reach him at 225-335-0851.
