School Construction Will Involve Central-Owned Businesses

By  |

Dykes Electric, Firmin Construction and Louis Mechanical Contractors are amongst the companies who will be doing portions of the work to build the Middle and Intermediate Schools over the next 18 months.  It is a tribute to these Central business owners and a benefit to the Central Community that they have been awarded this work.  Knowing that companies with close ties to Central will be staking their reputations on the quality of the work performed in their own community on a job of this size is a strong positive in this project.

I dont how this could be looked at as anything but positive. If you understand how this bid process works, with many, many subs bidding to the General Contractor, there is virtually no chance of any shenanigans or the General Contractor couldnt win the overall bid by using higher or unqualified subs. Congratulations to our City based business owners on being awarded these contracts.

Hey Mike could you expand on what you mean by shenanigans, before I comment. Knowing personally how this process works I think I might have a different opinion.
