PVT Darren Dufour Graduates from Basic Training

Army National Guard PVT. Darren P. Dufour has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

Darren is currently assigned to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio,Texas for AIT training in the field of Combat Medic.

He is the son of John D. and Donna Dufour of Central, La.  Darren is the Grandson of Betty (Dufour) Mattason of Houma , La. , the late John Dufour, Alvah M. Johnson and the late Thomas A. Johnson (Retired Army).

Darren is a 2009 graduate of Central High School .

    Thank you for your nice comments. Darren wasn’t happy to find out I put this in the paper. He doesn’t get the proud mom concept. All he thinks is he not doing anything news worthy, that it is the ones that are in Irag, Afghanistan etc. and the ones that died fighting for our country that deserve the attention. Which makes me even prouder of him.
