CENTRAL PROUD-CENTRAL STRONG!
Folks, I have been approached several times recently asking about the purported “split” in our community. As with any governmental entity, we will not always all agree with the handling of the major decisions or the day to day decisions of the Mayor and Council.
I will assure you that the City of Central is moving forward at the expected pace of a city in its foundation stage. We will continue to pace ourselves in this new development in order to maintain the quality of life that is prevalent here.
Central IS, HAS and ALWAYS will be a community that cares. If there is any doubt about this, just visit Central High School and Central Private School on any given home game Friday night or become involved with our Cooking In Central Festival. There is no place like it and no place better to verify a community united to build a safe, prosperous, supportive environment for our families.

Central Wildcats defeated Sarah Reed High School 58-6 at Friday’s Homecoming game.
Central Private Rebels defeated longtime rival Silliman Institute 8-0.

CITY DEVELOPMENT FOLLOW UP
Last week I made a follow-up visit to three cities that were in the foundation stage of development in 2004; Sandy Springs, Georgia, John’s Creek, Georgia and Milton, Georgia. All three cities utilized the private/public partnership for their city services. I found that John’s Creek and Sandy Springs will continue to utilize the private/public partnership and Milton will be attempting to move their services in house. I will be monitoring their progress very closely for the next several years.
CREDIT CARD USE
Last Council meeting we addressed the use of Credit Cards by the City of Central and the Central Police Department.
The following decisions were made:
City of Central, (Mayor’s Office) will continue to utilize the Wal-Mart charge card for incidental supplies for City Hall. All other charges will be placed on personal credit cards and reimbursed by City check.
City of Central Police Department, will be issued a credit card for utilization for educational seminars and office supplies.
On this note I want to congratulate Chief Browning on the acquisition of a new 2011, Ford Crown Vic patrol unit to add to our fleet. This was made possible by a grant from the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
