Wildcat BLACKOUT This Friday Night vs Denham

By  |

The crowd did a great job last weekend with the Whiteout at Memorial Stadium for the CHS football game.  Fans are being asked to participate this Friday night in a blackout in Wildcat Stadium when the Wildcats face Denham Springs at home at 7 p.m.  Wear all black (or at least a black shirt) to support the Wildcats.

Several events are coming together to make this Friday an exciting one: the Wildcat blackout, Hall of Fame Night, and the Celebrity Flag Football Game.  Hall of Fame activities will take place during pre-game.  Doc Johnson, a long-time Central High teacher and coach, will be honored as he is inducted into the Central High Hall of Fame.  Friday has even been declared Doc Johnson Day by both Mayor Watts and Mayor-President Kip Holden.

The Celebrity Flag Football Game will immediately follow the Central High/Denham game Friday night.  Members of the Central City Council, Central School Board, and other public officials have graciously agreed to participate in a flag football game, "city vs schools."  Many local businesses have sponsored the event, which is raising money for cancer research and treatment through the American Cancer Society's Central Relay for Life.  Call 262-3730 if you would like to be a business sponsor.  Donations from the public will also be gladly accepted at the event.  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Don't miss out on the fun Friday night!  Come out to cheer on the Wildcats, and remember to wear black!
