VIDEO: School Board Discussions of 10/11/10

By  |

The Central Community School Board held discussion and Public Comment on three high profile issues at its regular meeting on 10/11/2010.  The issues were the results of the Legislative Audit, invoices to the School System from MIS Technologies and GM Cable Contractors, and the tabling of a Resolution regarding pay for School Board members and the limiting of discussion and public comment on this issue.  The following is a complete video of this portion of the 10/11 meeting.  It is 80 minutes in length.

I guessed right last week. If an item for discussion would not have been on the agenda, after the reading of the audit report the board would have moved on to the next item without discussion. Even with the item for discussion on the agenda by Keith Kepper, Ms. Browning attempted to stifle any further discussion of the audit.

Would you like to sit there and have people badger you and smear your name with nonsense? And to think, they do not get paid to put up with people’s accusations.

you will have to specify for me which item was nonsense. The lack of following bid procedures or the lack of consistency regarding the procedures for conducting the meetings. Also, the board members voluntarily ran for office and were fully aware that the positions were non paid.

Giving out roughly $500,000 in friendship contracts and having the tax paying citizens questions these actions of why the Louisiana bid law was ignored is always just nonsense. We should just go ahead and make all school board meetings closed and behind doors and not worry what backroom deals are being made because “they are good Central people”.
