From the St. Alphonsus weekly newsletter

Please join us as we pay tribute to all U.S. Veterans and those currently serving our country. All branches of the military will be represented and specially recognized.  Prior to Mass, Amazing Grace will be played on the bagpipes. Honor Guards from the Marine Corps League and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree will be present. Members from each branch of service and from past wars will present their flags along with the MIA-POW flag. The National Colors will then be presented by Weapons Company 3rd Battalion 23rd Marines.

The guest speaker for this occasion will be Mike Lamana, father of Scott Lamana (died at the Pentegon on September 11, 2001). Throughout the Mass, patriotic songs will be sung. All Veterans and those currently serving will be called forth to be recognized and receive a special blessing. This will be followed by the placing of the MIA-POW Flag, at which time Echo Taps will be played in recognition of all those missing in Action and those who have been or are presently Prisoners of War. Following the final blessing the Colors will be retired. A reception will immediately follow in the St. Francis Room, where photos of Veterans and those in current United States Military Service will be displayed.
