Fire Damages Two Houses on Thanksgiving Day

Other Agencies Assisting:       Dist. 6 helped at the fire. Eastside fire dept. move up to one of our stations to staff it.  The Red Cross helped the families.

Other Information:       The fire started in the storage shop attached to the home 12925 N. Oak Tree. High wind conditions at the time of the fire spread the fire to the home next door. Both homes had flames coming from the roof upon the arrival of the first fire truck. The second home at 12935 N. Oak Tree was one of Central Fire Departments employees Blake Martin who has been employed with the department for two years. A small dog from Blake’s home was saved from the fire. Blake was not home when the fire started. Fellow firefighters assisted him after the fire with his personal belongings and securing the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
