The Central High School football and volleyball teams were both honored at the CCSS December School Board meeting for their outstanding seasons.  Both teams made it to the playoffs and impressed the community with their hard work and victories to show for it.

The CHS Lady Wildcat volleyball team is pictured above with Coach Heather Blackard (standing in the center).  Along with their great season, several of the girls were given other honors this year.  Rachel Barber, Brisha Coffee, and Taylor Padgett all made 1st Team All-District.  Honorable Mentions for All-District include Chelsea David, Tremelia Kelly, Zhane’ Williams, and Dylan Wilson.  Taylor Padgett made 1st Team All-Metro, and Brisha Coffee got an All-Metro Honorable Mention.  The following players were named to the 2010 Academic All-State Team, an honor given to LHSAA athletes who have kept a high GPA while remaining committed to their sport: Meagan Alexander (3.8333 GPA), Dylan Wilson (3.8095 GPA), and Brittany Starkey (3.7381 GPA) were all honored for their academic and athletic achievement.  Congratulations to these ladies for their awards and honors, and we are proud as a community of the entire Lady Wildcat volleyball team!
