April Palombo & Dr. Martin Setliff Wed in Downtown Baton Rouge

By  |

Friends, family and love all came together in one elegant weekend in downtown Baton Rouge last August.  The occasion was the wedding of April Palombo and Dr. Martin Setliff, whose celebration filled the downtown area for the entire weekend.

Festivities began Friday evening at the beautiful City Club where 125 guests gathered for the rehearsal dinner. Joy filled the banquet hall as toasts and stories were shared, along with a prayer of blessing for the young couple. The Historic Hilton Capitol House Hotel provided accommodations and a gathering place for family and their many out-of-town guests.

The following evening, the couple exchanged their marriage vows in First Baptist Church, witnessed by 650 guests, including 24 attendants.  After the ceremony, the happy couple were whisked away by trolley to their reception at the Hilton Capitol House. Music by the Tip-Tops filled the room as guests enjoyed dancing and exquisite refreshments.

As the evening drew to a close, the couple relaxed in a post-reception gathering at the Roux House, before retiring to their suite at the Hilton.
The newly-weds, attendants, family, and out-of-town guests all came together once again the next morning for a Champagne Brunch at the Avoyelles Cafe’ before the couple left for their honeymoon in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

April is the daughter of Mechelle Miller and Markham Palombo of Baton Rouge, and the granddaughter of Peggy and Stafford Palombo of Central.  Martin is the son of Beverly and Richard Setliff of Baton Rouge. The couple will reside in Birmingham, Alabama, where Martin is a resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UAB.
