Murray’s Pharmacy and Central’s History

By  |

While the City of Central is only five years old, our history goes back more than 150 years.  Murray's Pharmacy is one piece of that history, and Mrs. Murray, who still lives on Sullivan Road, has been gracious enough to share these and other photographs with the Central Community.  Located across from what is now Central Middle School, the pharmacy later moved to the location that is now Central Florist.  Perhaps some of you had seen these photos, but they are revealed to many of us here for the first time.

CentralSpeaks.com would like to prompt everyone to consider sharing their pieces of Central's long history.  Send us your pictures and stories and we will share them with the community and forward copies to Ms. Vicky Carney, Central's unofficial historian.  Ms. Carney has spent untold hours assembling and maintaining a large collection of Central History at the library on Joor Road.  Come see this collection any time during library hours.
