A Proud Day for the James Family

    Jacob James, a local 11-year-old, displayed some major fishing skills last week when he caught an 8-pound bass using a cane pole, a hot dog, and a worm.  Jacob made his catch on Saturday, January 29th at the Waddell Wildlife park near Flannery Road.  Jacob is pictured above with his dad, Troy James.

    My husband and his buddy were there when he caught this! They were so excited for him and couldnt believe he caught it with a hot dog and a worm. 🙂 I think they actually took this picture!

    I was in fact there and was so excited to see that large of fish caught that I ran all the way around the pond just so I could see it up close. It was one of those fish you don’t see every day especially at Waddell. That is a day they will never forget and I will not either.

    Wow, a young man produces a once in a lifetime bass without the aid of a $40,000 bass boat, $2500 Fish finder, $600 rod and reel and thousands of dollars worth of tackle. Father spending some time with his son and rewarded with a wonderful memory. Congratulations Jacob!

    Way to go! What a catch! Never underestimate the power of the hot dog!
