Wildcat Football Players Sign Letters of Intent for College

Two Central High School football players have signed National Letters of Intent to play college football at Southeastern Louisiana University and Southern Methodist University.  The players signed their letters in the school’s gym at 11:30 with their families, teammates, and students in attendance.

Taylor Jenkins (6’3” 225) signed with the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.  Taylor is a three year starter at Defensive End and will play that position at the next level.  He also considered McNeese, Nicholls, Millsaps, University of Louisiana Monroe, Arkansas State, and University of Louisiana Lafayette.  He was an All-District first team selection as a Defensive Lineman.

James “JR” Richardson (5’10” 180) signed with the Mustangs of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  James is a two year starter at Cornerback and will play that position at the next level.  He also considered Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Cincinnati, Marshall, Arkansas State, and University of Louisiana Monroe.  He was an All-District first team selection as a Defensive Back, Kick Returner, and Athlete.  He was the 5-5A Defensive MVP.  He is also an All-Metro selection.
