Republican Women of Central Meeting Wednesday at Sammy’s

The Republican Women of Central Announce GENE MILLS of LOUISIANA FAMILY FORUM as February 16th Guest Speaker.

            The Republican Women of Central are pleased to announce Gene Mills, President of Louisiana Family Forum and Amanda Swanner, U.S. Senator David Vitter’s Community Liason as Special Guest Speakers for their  February 16th Membership Meeting and Luncheon.  It is being held at Sammy’s Grill, 14800 Wax Road in Central.  Guests and members may arrive at 11:30a.m. to meet speakers and get acquainted with members and guests. 

                Reverend Gene Mills, an ordained minister and highly sought-after motivational speaker, brings 25 plus years of experience working life and family issues into the Louisiana political landscape.  Mills has directed the activities of LFF, a non-profit research and education organization, since its inception in 1999- providing “a voice for traditional families in Louisiana.”

                    LFF’s international network includes associations with Dr. James Dobson and Focus on the Family, the State Policy Network, Washington D.C. based Family Research Council, and forty state-level family policy councils nationwide.

                All registered Republicans, both women and men, are invited to join. Members are encouraged a friend to this meeting and select a committee to serve on. Much help is needed in forthcoming elections and local events benefiting our community.

                The Republican Women of Central are an affiliated chapter in the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women with over 2,100 members in 42 chapters statewide.

                Cost for the lunch and meeting is $15. Membership is $35 per year for both Active and Associate members.

                Several associate members are men, and women are active in other chapters around the capitol region area actively supporting Republican candidates. Among these members are State Representatives Cliff Richardson and Bodi White, Central Mayor Mac Watts, Central Chamber President and EBRP Metrocouncil Member Scott Wilson, and Capital City Republican Women Chapter President Sarah Holliday, President.

                “Our mission is to serve the region, locally and beyond by educating citizens about the upcoming municipal elections this year and into the national elections of 2012,” current RWC President Joan Lansing said.

                “Membership growth, voter registration and participation, education on legislation  and lobbying for worthwhile causes that impact Central and surrounding areas are key objectives for this year,” Mrs. Lansing said.

                Committee volunteers are needed for the Membership, Legislation, Community Service, Awards, Fundraising, Magnolia Club and Education Literacy.
