On Tuesday, Feb. 22, the Central softball team defeated Port Barre 9-8.
Port Barre led 6-0 going to bottom of the third.  The Lady wildcats scored 5 runs in the bottom of the third with rbi's from Lauren Gullett, Kayla Temple and Kaylan Hunt. After Port Barre added two runs in the top of the fifth to extend the lead to 8-5, the Lady Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom half to clinch the 9-8 victory as darkness descended on the Lady Wildcat field and limited the game to five innings.
Ashley Dileo walked and Kayla Temple reached on an error.  Kaylan Hunt singled, driving in Dileo. Temple scored on a fielder's choice. Katie Flowers reached first on an error, scoring Tiffany Trahan, who was running for Hunt. Brittany McCarty reached first safely on an error with Flowers heading to third.  McCarty stole second and an attempted pick-off at third eluded the third baseman and allowed Flowers to score the winning run. Dileo and Flowers had two hits and each scored two runs. Temple scored two runs and Hunt added two rbi's. Heather Bozeman was the winning pitcher with her first decision of the year.
