Words of Encouragement from the Central Area Pastors' Association

The psalmist prayed, “Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your Word.”  How we view our world and the situations we face is called our perspective. Our past experiences, education and our own desires or prejudices color our perspective which, in turn, influences our behavior. We are influenced by and act according to the way we see things.

Accepting the challenge implied in this verse would motivate us to gain God’s perspective on our world and the issues of the day. In instances where true reconciliation occurs, viewing the issues honestly and without personal prejudice or agenda is mandatory. The psalmist cried out to God so that he might gain understanding of the world around him and the issues he faced by looking at them through the prism of God’s Word. This is good counsel for all.

Blessings to you,
