Mayor’s Youth Council Making Big Plans

Submitted by Cameron Brown

The Mayor’s Youth Council met twice last month to discuss upcoming events. The council is comprised of ten outstanding students from Central High School and Central Private School. These students all show a drive to take part in their city government. Recently, the council is discussing a request that Mayor Watts send the council to the legislative session at the state capitol to meet with their local area representatives. Council President Cameron Brown has also sent in a request to the governor’s office with the hope that the council may meet with Governor Jindal. Good things are coming from this proactive group of students.
