The Central Lions Club will offer a FREE glaucoma screening at the Central Wal-Mart in the parking lot on Sunday, April 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This service is part of the Central Lions efforts to increase awareness about glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a silent and irreversible disease that can lead to blindness. Unfortunately you can have good vision and still have glaucoma without even knowing it, so it is very important to be screened regularly. However, if immediate treatment is provided, those with glaucoma have an opportunity to significantly reduce damage to their eyesight.

The Central Lions are working with the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation in bringing this FREE, that’s right “ABSOLUTELY FREE”, screening to the Central community. Just one of the ways that the Central Lions are working to SERVE your community.
Although anyone can develop glaucoma, people over age 60 are considered to be high risk. Other high risk groups include African Americans and Hispanics over age 40 and those individuals with a family history of glaucoma.

We will also be selling jambalaya dinners for $5.00. In addition our Lady Lions’ will have a bake sell for your sweet tooth.
So make plans to attend the Central Lions screening being held at 10200 Sullivan Road on Sunday, April 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to determine if you are at risk for glaucoma. Remember, early detection and diagnosis is the first step in preserving your vision. The Lions will be assisted by Dr. Ngyuen of the of Wal-Mart Vision Center.
