Adopt-A-Thon This Weekend at EBR Animal Control

    The 2011 Tour for Life Adopt-A-Thon Event is set for Sunday, April 3rd. CAAWS, SOS, Greyhound Pets of America, YELP!, Cat Haven, Friends of Animals, The Pit Krewe, Project Purr, Spay Baton Rouge, LA Alaskan Malamute Protection, Northside Humane Society, and APAWS are proud to participate in the lifesaving international effort spearheaded by the North Shore Animal League. Tour for Life is the world’s largest cooperative national adoption initiative aimed at reinforcing the importance of adopting pets from shelters and making the public aware that shelter dogs and cats are wonderful lifetime companions.

    Beginning at 11:00 PM until 4:00 PM the Pet Adopt-A-Thon event will be held at East Baton Rouge Animal Control and Rescue Center (EBRACRC) at 2680 Progress Road, Baton Rouge. The Tour for Life Mobile Adoption Unit will also be at the shelter. Many incredible dogs and cats are waiting to be adopted. EBRACRC will reduce the adoption fee to $51.00 for any pet adopted at the event. Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, first set of vaccinations, including rabies license and tag, flea treatment, de-worming, and a micro-chip. The day’s activities will include:
