Central Resident Killed in Baton Rouge CarQuest Robbery

    Randy Chaney, 55, of Greenwell Springs, and Edward Gurtner, 43 were killed during an armed robbery of the CarQuest store where they worked on Airline Highway near Siegen Lane in Baton Rouge.  On Monday authorities arrested Lee Turner, Jr., and charged him with two counts of first degree murder and armed robbery.  Turner was booked into parish prison.  On behalf of the Central community we extend condolences to the families and friends of Mr. Chaney and Mr. Gurtner.

    Words can not express my feelings. Mrs. Chaney and family, you will be in our prayers. I was a district manager in Baton Rouge and new Randy very well. I am so sorry for your loss. We lost a good man, but heaven has gained one. If I would have known, I would have been at the services.
