Intact Tyrannosauras Rex Fossil Unearthed at Central Schools Construction Site

By  |

Security at the new school construction site has been unusually tight for the past four months, and has discovered why. While digging the new retention pond for storm water drainage, work crews at the school site on Sullivan Road unearthed two entirely intact fossilized dinosaur skeletons. The first was a Tyrannosaurus Rex and the second, a Saber-Toothed Tiger. Officials have kept the discovery a secret so that the work of a team of scientists from the University of Liechtenstein, experts in T-Rex fossils, could be completed without public interference. The two skeletons, pictured below, have been removed from Central and successfully preserved in a museum annex in Alexandria. After further scientific study, the fossils will be returned to the City of Central.

Preliminary analysis indicates that the T-Rex died due to wounds suffered in an attack from the Saber-Toothed Tiger. The scientific community has long agreed that the Saber-Toothed Tiger is the distant ancestor of the North American Wildcat, which is the Mascot of the Central Community School System. As such, in a deal struck between Central Mayor Mac Watts and School Superintendent Mike Faulk, the Saber-Tooth Tiger will be permanently displayed in the Central High School Gym, while the fossilized T-Rex will be housed in new annex to be built adjacent to City Hall.

The only officials made aware of the discovery were the School Board Members in office in November when the discovery was first made. The School Board and legal counsel were invited to assist in this historic discovery by being the first to break ground on the archeological dig. A photo of the historic event is included below.

Wow 4 months and can fully remove 2 fossils and can assemble them in a museum. Get that crew on the build team for the school so we can open the doors in August.

For a ‘suppose-2-b’ information news site, this was in very poor taste….guess I’ll just stick to the real Central Newspaper!

Well now…………looks like I have some work ahead trying to regain my credibility. Sure was proud of the big story in our little town. Been all over southwest Texas since I got the email and boy have I been bragging.
I still think it is funny but I will not believe anything again unless it comes from Mayor Mac himself!
