By  |

The business La Louisiana Riders, located at 13089 Greenwell Springs Road, received a cease & desist letter recently when it was deteramined that the facility will need to be further reviewed by the Baton Rouge Planning Comission before operations can continue.  While the business is located on the Baton Rouge side of the Comite, many concerns have been voiced by residents of Central’s Comite Hills subdivision who are worried about the potential for noise and dust from the nearby facility.  The business has been ordered to stop all operations until the matter can be further reviewed by the Planning Comission.

I bet majority of the people who are going to use this place is mid 20s to mid 40s. This is more about noise than anything else. I live in a neighborhood close to the Amite River and I hear 4-wheelers running all day long in the summer time.

If they obtain the proper business license, I have no problem with this place. If it is outside the city limits of Central than it is a East Baton Rouge Parish problem.

Seriously, noise? Whatever happened to freedom? Most people stay inside more anyways. I have heard it said that two simple things have lead to the decline of America than any others. #1-air conditioning: as in, with the advent of a/c, most people do not associate with their neighbors because it is cool inside. and #2—sounds silly, but biscuits, as in , more divorces are reported simply because most women cannot make a simple biscuit. Seems silly right?
And really, pay homage to the local “officials” because they hold the “magic wand” because they have been chosen to “represent” us? Is there really someone in this world that can represent you and your life more than you? Geeeeez, stop depending on others to think for you!!!!
I will leave you all with a quote from Cicero:
“The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome (America) become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance (social security, welfare, etc.)” Cicero, 55 B.C.

How much noise and dust do 60″ cut commercial mowers and lawn tractors, gas blowers and string trimmers, make in a subdivision with 3/4 to 3 acre lawns.

Folks you have no idea what kind of problems this can create. This property ajoins my dads property at the end of Flannery on GS and teh golf course further down which is all private property. No doubt people will be crossing over, we have had numerous thefts, and people shoot back there all the time and I can show you bullet holes in the building to prove it. Add drinking into the equation which I;m sure will go along with it, and you have teh makings of a problem.

There’s a golf course on GS road? I thought it was an old driving range and an old par three that has been closed for atleast ten years. Check with Tower Trax and see if they have problems. I need a place close by to bring the kids motorcrossing.
