Central Schools #4 in State after Spring Testing

The top ranking Louisiana school districts, based on the percentage of students performing at grade level or above on Spring 2011 testing, are:

Zachary 85%, Orleans 82%, West Feliciana 81%, and in fourth place at 79% are Central, Livingston, Plaquemines and Vernon Parish.  In the State Testing results released this week Central's students scored well above Louisiana averages.  Superintendent Faulk reported to the School Board Tuesday night that the percentage of students scoring Basic and Above increased in 19 of the 28 tested areas as compared to a year ago.  Central's percentage of students testing Basic & Above in each grade level tested exceed the state average as follows: Grade 3 – Central 92% – State 66%, Grade 4 – Central 87% – State 70%, Grade 5 – Central 79% – State 66%, Grade 6 – Central 73% – State 69%, Grade 7 – Central 74% – State 66%, Grade 8 – Central 71% – State 62%, Grade 10 – Central 74% – State 61%, Grade 11 – Central 81% – State 63%.
