Mike Anderson’s Restaurant Update: Good News for a Great City

With a change in architects behind him, Mike Anderson is back on track to open Central's location of his locally famous restaurant.  In an interview Wednesday Mike Anderson shared that the plans will soon be completed and the project will be going out for bids.  The current schedule is to break ground by October with an anticipated completion date of June, 2012.  The addition of a Mike Anderson's would be a boost to Central's economy and add another fine dining option to this community.

Mike went on to describe the tentative layout of the restaurant.  Plans are for a banquet room able to accomodate upwards of 100 guests, a patio out front for open air dining, and large bay windows overlooking the sloping hill and woods behind the restaurant.  In addition, there will be a wine room lined with wine racks for a more intimate atmosphere reminiscent of a wine cellar.  Mike also shared that they are working hard to preserve the three large oak trees at the front of the property, and he believes they have worked out construction and parking to accomplish that goal.

While Mike himself will be involved in the project and the ongoing restaurant operation, he commented, "You are most likely to find me in the kitchen, because people come here for good food, not to see me."  He added, "I intend to make sure we are providing quality food and service."  Mike spoke highly of his son who runs the business, the restaurant's management team, and their ability to run a quality restaurant, but assures us that he will be on hand frequently to welcome the Central patrons of Mike Anderson's Restaurant.
