Senate Bid Expected from Central’s Rep Bodi White

By  |

Representative Bodi White of Central is expected to announce next week whether he intends to run for the Louisiana Senate seat containing over 80% of Central.  The Justice Department yesterday approved the new Districts which creates a Senate seat comprised primarily of Central, Woodlawn, Hammond and Pontchatoula.  Reached for comment, Representative White said that he has been strongly considering running for this Senate seat and will make his formal decision sometime next week.

This race, as well as the House of Representative races which include Central, should be of particular interest and importance to all of Central.  Having strong representation from Central in these elected positions should ensure that Central's needs are properly considered in matters such as funding for roads and bridges as well as larger issues such as a Baton Rouge Loop and the Comite River Diversion Canal project.
