BRIDGE CLOSURE: The bridge on Old Wax Rd just WEST of Durmast Drive was closed on Wednesday, 9/7, by DOTD and City-Parish.  DOTD crews inspected the bridge this morning and found a critical deficiency. All traffic from Northwoods will be forced to detour via Greenwell Springs Rd. There is no timetable as to when repairs will be made by the City-Parish.

Also, the latest update on the Lovett Rd bridge completion date is November 2, 2011.   Part of the backfill that was placed last week washed away in the high waters this week.

Starting to look suspicious. DPW Public Works director said recently that bridges are inspected every 6 months. Amazing how this many bridges are all of a sudden deficient about 1 month after King Kip didn’t get his way.

Also, not surprised that the contractor is requesting 4 week extension. I knew this was going to happen with this group. Hopefully it doesn’t take 9 months like the GS overlay project.

ACR this sounds oddly familiar to an old fairy tale about a Troll and a Bridge.

No timetable? Are you kidding? 3 days now NO ONE even working on it! Would this happen on Highland Road, CCLA, Bocage? Seriously… timetable and no answers from the person screening Jim Ferguson at DPW’s calls. 389-3186.
