After a tough road loss to St. Thomas More, the Central Wildcats (1-1) return home Friday night to face the Woodlawn Panthers (1-1). Woodlawn is back in 5A this year after dropping to 4A a few years ago. They are picked to finish third in District 5-5A after a 9-3 season last year. They return 11 starters (5 on offense, 6 on defense). The Panthers lost a tough game Friday night to Denham Springs 50-39.  The Panther defense gave up 540 yards to the Denham offense. The Wildcats will need to be ready for a balanced offensive attack Friday night as the Panthers have averaged 40 points in their first two games. Coach Dotson said, “I know Coach Jones will have his team ready to play when they come in Friday. They are a solid football team all the way around.” It should be a good game as both teams try to get back to their winning ways. One stat to remember though: Central has lost two straight games only once in the past five years (2007- Catholic and Acadiana).
