Central High School library recently sponsored a 9/11 writing contest. Students submitted poems and essays concerning the events of September 11, 2001. The winners were sophomore Chelsea Dickson, first place, and a tie for second place between freshman Amanda Fontenot and junior Sydnie Landry. Honorable Mention winners were freshman Ashley Alfonso,  senior Michelle Coleman, sophomore Cameron Robertson and junior Marquel Weaver.  Mrs. Shawn Braud won for her teacher’s entry.  Students were able to compete for prizes as they practiced their writing skills, which is a main focus for this school year. All entries received a certificate and recognition in their homeroom.
