Richard Fletcher’s death leaves a hole in the hearts of many Central residents. His family has lived in the Central Community for over thirty years. He was a frequent guest speaker at Lighthouse Christian Church. His friends and family describe him as much more than a mere man; he was a wonderful warrior for Christ and embodied Christian values as he ministered across the world. He was known as Prophet by many, a Spiritual Advisor to over sixty Nations and leader of Christ Resurrection Ministries.

His amazing journey through life ended Wednesday, October 19, 2011. He battled with Leukemia, but never let his Faith or desire to minister falter. His compassion for the people of Africa was extraordinary. His work their extensive as he made plans to build an orphanage in the upcoming years.

Richard was born June 2, 1945 in Independence, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his mother and sister. He began his ministry in Louisiana prisons, leading many inmates to serve the Lord. His ministry grew and he became the spiritual advisor to many nations, giving advice and counseling to their Presidents and heads of state. He stood in the office of a Prophet, prophesying over different churches and laying healing hands on many that stood before him.

Although his life was threatened many times, he was never detoured from doing God’s work. He lived his life to the fullest. Although his earthly body may have failed him, his love and subservient ways, touched the hearts of all that came in contact with him.

A memorial service was held Sunday evening in Central to honor the life of this extraordinary man. As per his request, his ashes are being sent to Africa to be spread among the land that was the heart and soul of his ministry. Today we celebrate his life and all of his many accomplishments. Let there be smiles among us, knowing his physical battles are over and he is now with his Lord Jesus Christ.

When not ministering, he spent his spare time with his Central family; his sister, Margaret Tillett, niece, DeeDee Dupree, nephews, Brian and Bob Toler, and his best friends, Pastor Richard and Connie Wilson. His presence here on earth will be greatly missed, although we know we will see his incredible smile, once again, in Heaven.

Although suffering with cancer, he would take time just to call those he loved to see how they were doing; to pray with them if they had troubled hearts. He blessed so many lives, countless times and in numerous ways.

God Bless You Richard Fletcher, for your incredible ministry, loving heart, amazing friendship and selfless ways.  His family will continue his ministry and hopes to publish his book, The Making of a Prophet.

Let the sadness in our hearts be
filled with happiness and love,
as his journey here on earth is done
we know he’s safe with God above.
