Central (4-4, 2-1 district) travels to Louisiana Leadership Institute on Hooper Road Friday to take on the Scotlandville Hornets (7-1, 2-1 district). The winner of the game will be on top of the district standings. The Hornets have surprised many this season as they are atop the district standings after finishing near the bottom of the district last year. They have 13 starters returning (8 on offense, 5 on defense). They have a very explosive offense that averages 41 points per game. After the Denham game, senior defensive lineman Joey Jarreau said, “We have to turn our attention to this Scotlandville team. If we can beat them, we can win a district title.” Central currently sits at #37 in the power rankings, but a win against Scotlandville would put them in the top 32 to get a chance in the playoffs. Before the Denham game, Coach Dotson said that the rest of the Wildcats games were playoff games, and they will have to treat each one like that if they want to continue their season.
