Central Community Theatre’s Jr. Elite will present Madeline’s Christmas at the newly renovated Central High School’s theatre on Sunday, December 11 at 2pm.  Tickets are $10 and are on sale at Central Community Theatre’s office at 6631 Sullivan Rd. Monday-Thursday from 5-9pm or at the door on December 11.  Madeline’s Christmas, book and lyrics by Jennifer Kirkeby and music by Shirley Mier is based on the book by Ludwig Bemelmans.  "In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines lived twelve little girls in two straight lines." So begins this delightful story of Madeline's Christmas! The day begins like any other day. Miss Clavel, played by Parker Wilson, takes the twelve little girls on their morning walk. They go to the zoo and then back to school for their French history lesson. Suddenly disaster strikes when everyone gets the flu! Everyone that is, except for the ever-resilient Madeline, played by Shelbi Lambert. Saddened that they may not be able to go home for Christmas, the girls and Miss Clavel take to their beds. But on Christmas Eve, the adventure begins when there is a knock at the front door. Expecting to see Santa, Madeline meets the Rug Merchants, Manning Lloyd & Zach Lejeune,  who have brought twelve very special rugs.  They remind Madeline that Christmas is the time of miracles, and that these are not ordinary rugs! Soon everyone wakes up feeling healthy. The Rug Merchants show them that they each have a magic carpet and that they can fly home to be with their families for Christmas! After saying goodbye to the girls, Miss Clavel finds a present that the girls left for her, befriends a little mouse, Sophie Sullivan, and counts her many blessings singing: "Everything Is Right Tonight." Before you know it, the girls fly back to the Old House and are together again on New Year's Eve. They thank Madeline for taking care of them and making their Christmas so special! Additional cast members include Taylor Alleman, Madolyn Brumfield, Caroline Crawford, Ava Denham, Sadie Fontenot, Ashley Gouedy, Gabriella Ivey, Jilyan King, Klair Netherland, Emily Rodrigue, Rebekah Serrett, Savannah Sullivan, Carolynn Waller, & Aubri Watts.  Contact Central Community Theatre at 225-938-7433 or by email at centralcommunitytheatre@cox.net; or check their website at www.CentralCommunityTheatre.org for additional information.
