SAS Announces 5th and 8th Grade Students of the Year

    The nominees for student of the year in 5th grade were Connor Blanchard, Maddie Toler, Alayna Tate, and Trystan Tate.  The nominees for student of the year in 8th grade were Devyn Samson, Kalyn LeBlanc, Alexa Lonibos, Toni Guerin, and Taylor Boykin
    Our 5th Grade St. Alphonsus Catholic School 2012 Student of the Year is Trystan Tate. Trystan (top left) has a 3.95 grade point average.  She is involved in many activities in and out of school.  At St. Alphonsus, she is a member of God’s Helping Hands, Cheer Squad, and Children’s Choir.  She also enjoys dance and piano. She is the twin sister of Alayna, who was also a nominee for Student of the Year. She has a younger sister, Claire in the 4th grade, and a younger brother, Shawn in PK4.
   Our 8th Grade St. Alphonsus Catholic School 2012 Student of the Year is Taylor Boykin. Taylor (bottom left) has a 3.89 GPA. Taylor is a member of the SAS Beta Club, Spirit Club, Youth Legislature, and Quiz Bowl Team. Taylor enjoys writing poetry and playing in the band. Taylor plans to attend Central High School next year.
