You’re Invited to the City of Central Master Plan Meetings

    Representatives from ERM (Environmental Resources Management), the firm selected to complete the next phase of our Master Plan, will hold three public information sessions during the first week of April to discuss the work to be done.  The first meeting will be on Tuesday, April 3 at 6:30 pm at the Joor Rd Library, 11260 Joor Rd.  This meeting will provide the public with details of the project scope, schedule, and anticipated benefits. 
    The second meeting will be on Wednesday, April 4 at 5:30 pm at the Central Fire Station located at 11646 Sullivan Rd.  Items to be discussed include synthesis and preliminary concepts, strategy development, and input from the community.  The third meeting will be on Thursday, April 5 at 4:00 pm at the Central Fire Station.  Items to be discussed include implementation strategies and projected schedule. 
    Funding for this phase of the Master Plan is through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program with a local match from the city of Central.  Items to be addressed in this phase include the creation of a flood-plain management program to deal with developments in the floodplain, a code and pattern design book for architectural standards for new commercial developments, and the development of a city center.  The public is encouraged to attend.
