CPS Tennis Takes District

In only its second year of existence, the Central Private School Boys’ Tennis Team recently won its first district tennis championship in school history. The District Tournament was held at Silliman Institute in Clinton, LA, on Friday, April 20. The District Champions and Runners-up will be advancing to MAIS South State on May 2nd at Brookhaven Academy (MS).

Individual District Champions include:  # 1 Singles-Mitch Van Asten;  #1 Doubles- Brennan West and Rhett Seguin;  #2 Doubles- Piers Carroll and Austin Pierce;  Mixed Doubles- Alex Overs and Lauren West; and District Runnerup #2 Singles – Luke Fryoux.

The CPS Girls’ Tennis Team will have two spots in the South State Tournament:  #1 Singles – Alex Wicker;
#1 Doubles – Julia Wicker and Kelly Nijoka.  The tennis team is coached by Henry Gantz.
